Originally from New Hampshire, Michelle Martocci came to Virginia to study Interior Design at Radford University. Michelle continued to develop her talents working at Bachman Brown Design in New York City focusing on residential design. Later, she moved back to Virginia and expanded her work with other companies specializing in hotel and commercial office design. After meeting the love of her life and now husband Jason, who owns a catering business called Alpha Pitt Smokers, she knew Virginia was the place to call home. Together they have a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Kensington, two dogs and a cat. When Michelle is not enjoying family time, singing, and playing/coaching soccer, she is busy building her business.
When Michelle went to Radford University, little did she know she would end up using her design talents as a real estate agent. A self-motivated entrepreneur, Michelle took her passion to a new level and started her own residential decorating and home staging business called MM Interiors, LLC. Staging homes quickly became something she loved doing. “Decorating for a larger audience gave me more freedom to express my personal style,” says Michelle. As she was staging homes for agents, she became familiar with the process of readying a home for the market. Inspired by clients’ reactions, Michelle took a dive and fully immersed herself into the challenging world of real estate.
Since moving into real estate, Michelle has truly found her niche. Driven by a desire for excellence and an eye for detail, Michelle strives to guide her clients seamlessly through an otherwise complex process. “I put my all into everything I do,” says Michelle. When helping a client list their home, Michelle plans strategically and isn’t afraid to be hands-on. From making small décor changes and ensuring the listing photographs are eye catching, to preparing the homeowners with next steps and checklists, Michelle is dedicated to staying on top of every detail. “I am a proactive agent,” says Michelle. “I want everything to be ready and perfect for that first potential buyer.”
Michelle is an innovative thinker who tries to negotiate for her clients wisely. “I try to think outside the box,” says Michelle. “It’s not always a numbers game; there are other ways to appeal to a buyer or seller.” With that mindset, she works tirelessly to ensure her clients are comfortable and happy before ratifying a contract.
During her 15 years of working in customer service, Michelle has learned that listening to her clients is one of the most important parts of working together. “Effective communication is key,” explains Michelle. There are a lot of components to buying or selling a house and Michelle is patient and illustrative in her style of communication. Each client gives her new motivation to make each transaction as seamless and enjoyable as possible. She is continually learning new things about the industry in effort to provide unmatched service. “The most rewarding moment for me is being at the closing table and seeing the excitement on their faces.”
