Catherine Livingston is just the kind of agent you want working for you. This tenacious, goal-driven young woman has endured some challenging life experiences that have proven her mettle. "Just because you have a set-back in life doesn't mean you can't make your dreams come true," says Catherine. At 23-years-old, Catherine had one of the biggest set-backs you can experience in life. She was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Catherine grew up in Kentucky, met her husband Jason shortly after high school and the two of them went off to serve in the Navy. Catherine loved her job as a quartermaster and would have kept on serving. Her career was cut short when she got her diagnosis. As she courageously fought through the difficult days and months of chemo and radiation, Catherine longed for the day she could pursue some of her dreams. She began by taking classes, even though she was still undergoing treatments. She finished 2 associates degrees; Chemistry and Business Administration. 

In 2014 she got the amazing news that she was cancer free. Through all those months of fighting, Catherine was unable to work. She was looking for a creative outlet. Believing that God had given her a second chance, Catherine opened an online boutique called Anchored Feather. She shares her story through her website and gives 10% of her sales back to God. As a young entrepreneur, Catherine wanted to do more. The real estate agent who had helped her and her husband buy their house was an inspiration to Catherine. She could see how much impact you can have in other people's lives as you help them buy and sell their homes. She was hooked. "She made an impact on my life and I wanted to do that for other people," says Catherine. "I would love to pass that on."

The Navy moved them to Hampton Roads and she and Jason have embraced the area as their home. Catherine loves to share her knowledge of the military with her clients. This optimistic, out-going agent loves meeting new people and sharing her experience with them. "I like to help people write their life stories," says Catherine. She loves to hear what her clients are looking for and she respects their choices, partnering with them to find their dream home.  Success to Catherine is a happy client. "My favorite part of my job is when I hear my client say, 'This is the home!' I love it!" 

Catherine has been married to Jason for 8 years. She loves every kind of creative activity. "I'm a gypsie-soul," she laughs. "I'm all over the place." This free-spirit loves to remodel furniture, repainting and repurposing old pieces. She loves to sew. And scrapbook. And make jewelry...you name it, she's tried it. 

Her bout with cancer taught her to never take life for granted. She works hard and cherishes every day. Her 3 Boxers, Takoda, Arabella, and Zegen are the joy of her life. She had one litter and all 5 puppies have become service dogs. It is in Catherine's heart to give back and make other people's lives better. During her darkest days, she didn't know if any of this was possible. Now she is chasing down her dreams and can't wait to help her clients chase down theirs.
