Eric Carey

Eric Carey spent 20 years serving his country and now he's ready to serve you. Serving is simply in his blood. It's what motivated him to spend his first career in the Navy. And when he got out, retiring as a Chief Sonar tech in 2005, he looked for other ways to serve. Real Estate grabbed his attention. 

"I've always been interested in real estate," says Eric. Initially he thought he'd lean toward property management. He enjoyed fixing up homes and managing the rental properties. But the more he got involved in investing in real estate, the more he saw the potential to help others achieve their real estate goals.

"I'm a good listener and I believe I can help others reach their goal of becoming a home owner," says Eric. He bought his first investment property in 2007. All these years of looking for investment opportunities has helped Eric hone his skills. He learned a lot about buying properties and wants to share that experience with others. One lesson he learned; what you see at first isn't always the end result. "You need to come in with an open mind and be willing to look at the big picture'" says Eric. "Use your imagination. You may find a diamond in the rough when you weren't even looking for it." 

He laughs when he thinks of some of the sights and smells he's had to overcome to get to the diamond. But in the end, it has always been worth it. He has learned to recognize good bones. He can see past the aesthetic challenges to the value underneath. Becoming a real estate agent, he gets to share that skill with his clients and help them find the home that is right for them, even if it has some challenges they need help to see beyond. 

Eric was born in Miami and grew up in Ohio. When the Navy brought him to Hampton Roads in 1988, he made it his home. Having lived here so long, Eric has become an expert in the different areas of Hampton Roads. He loves to show clients around and help them find the area that works best for their family dynamic.

Eric has an Associates's degree in Business Administration. He also has training in HVAC and is currently enrolled at ODU in finance with a real estate track. Eric enjoys increasing his knowledge in his areas of interest. He is constantly learning. 

When Eric finds some down time, he enjoys working out with his lovely wife Lorri. Together they have 2 sons they are very proud of, one graduating from Tallwood High school and the other from George Mason University. Faith and family are core values of Eric's life. He is very active in his church and makes sure to prioritize his family. Volunteering in the community is also very important to Eric. He is the president of the Level Green Civic League and loves to be active in the many ways this organization is helping make the community better. 

 Traveling is also on his bucket list. He was stationed in Italy in his single years. He'd love to take his family there to show them the beautiful country. Eric is an athlete who has played basketball and football. And when he really wants to relax, Eric loves to throw a line in and see what he can catch.
