Shekitta Murray

My license is currently in Referral, which means I am taking a break from actively practicing real estate at the moment. I am happy to say that there is no need to worry! My like-minded fellow agents at FIT are readily available to assist you with your real estate buying and selling needs.

When Shekitta Murray realized she wanted to get involved in real estate, she had a couple of goals in mind. She wanted to see more families become homeowners, and she wanted to be one who helps them reach their goals. This motivated, hardworking real estate agent is all about helping her clients achieve the American dream.

"I'm passionate about helping my clients," says Shekitta. Her warmth and caring personality have a way of putting her clients at ease from the moment they meet her. Growing up the oldest of 7 children, Shekitta is a born leader. Her clients can lean into Shekitta and trust her to lead them through the real estate process. Whether buying a new home, or looking to put a home on the market, Shekitta is prepared to carry her clients through the whole process.

Since getting licensed, Shekitta has had the opportunity to work with many first-time home buyers. She finds special enjoyment in helping clients who aren't really sure they can afford to buy a home or fear they'll never find what they are looking for. She remembers working with a family who just wasn't finding that special home. Every house seemed like it just didn't have the "It" factor. When they finally found THE one, everyone was so excited! Even the children were cheering! Shekitta soaked up the moment. Helping this family find a home they were excited about gave her a sense of fulfillment that keeps her coming back for more.

It's not surprising that Shekitta would choose to become an entrepreneur. She grew up watching her dad build his own barber shop business. As he grew his business into a chain of barber shops, he became a bit of a local legend. When he passed a few years ago, Shekitta wanted to honor her dad's memory by working hard building her own real estate business. She is very proud of the legacy her father left and she wants to make him and her family proud by following in his footsteps. She even enjoys cutting hair!

Shekitta was born and raised on the Peninsula and knows the area well. Her local insight and expertise are a value to her clients. Though the Peninsula is her home, Shekitta is also comfortable showing her clients around any city in the Hampton Roads. When working with military and out-of-state clients, Shekitta is able to help them find the right location for the lifestyle they are envisioning. She is a people person and loves the challenge of learning her clients' needs and then helping them find the right home for them.

Shekitta is very family oriented andin her free time loves to spend time with her 2 boys, a 13-year-old and 1 year-old. She also loves to get together with her mom and siblings. This big happy family enjoys seafood feasts, wine, and Jazz. She also loves to laugh and enjoys a good comedy. In her serious moments, Shekitta enjoys learning new things listening to podcasts.
