When Drew Miller met his wife Pauli at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, little did he know it would lead him to Hampton Roads. But when Pauli moved home, Drew wasn’t far behind. He transferred to ODU in 2007, married Pauli, and has made this coastal area his home. Drew completed his Bachelor’s degree in English and Theatre Education at ODU.
Drew’s diverse resume includes a wide range of work experiences. This warm, friendly extrovert enjoyed the experience he gained in retail customer service and office management. But he really found his niche when he got involved in the mortgage and real estate industry over the last 6 years. He’s done everything from mortgage renovation processing to supervising loan processors. He also worked as an Acquisitions Manager for a wholesaler and has also learned about the business of flipping houses. Drew has taken all the many facets of his experience and used them to become a knowledgeable and adaptable real estate agent who wants to work for you.
“My goal is to be your agent for life,” says Drew. “I usually start out with a business relationship and end up with a friendship.” Drew is an agent who cares about his clients. He believes it is very important to listen to his clients and help them find the home that meets their needs. He recalls working with some clients who had a very specific dream home criteria. The clients were met with failure in their past searches, but when Drew got involved they found the home of their dreams. There was one problem. The home was already under contract. Drew knew how much they wanted that house, so he kept in touch with the listing agent, in case it should become available again. Within weeks, he was notified the deal fell through and Drew was able to quickly make an offer to secure the couple the home of their dreams. This is the reason Drew got involved in real estate. “I want people to be happy and achieve their goals,” he says. “Whether it’s their first home or their forever home.”
Serving others is at the heart of Drew’s real estate business, but it’s also at the heart of all he does. Living by Milton Berle’s maxim “If opportunity doesn’t knock, then build a door,” Drew and his wife Pauli founded a non-profit organization called TURN Inc. Through their faith-based organization, they produce and perform wholesome productions in the Hampton Roads area. Drew is a playwright, actor, and director. They are currently working on a play he wrote called “Solo” which tells the stories of single mothers. This project connected them with Shining Light Homes, another non-profit that supports single mothers and helps align them with resources to lighten the load of single parenthood.
Drew’s compassion for others is fueled by his faith and his own story of being adopted when he was 3 days old. Being chosen by a loving family has given him a place to belong. But it has also given him a heart for others with needs. So whether it’s serving at a homeless shelter, serving single mom’s, or helping clients find a home to build their lives and families in, Drew loves to serve others.
Drew and Pauli have 3 children, Hope 21, Anah 10, and Jude 6. In his free time, Drew loves progressive dining. He could start at Toast in Norfolk for an appetizer, move to The Grilled Cheese Bistro for the main course, and finish at Lamia’s for a delicious crepe. He also loves to travel. Road trips to Georgia to see his family are always fun. He also loves Yosemite National park. Anywhere with mountains, hiking, and waterfalls makes him happy. He’s a funny guy who loves to write dramatic comedies to make people laugh.
