Rhonda

A proud native of Hampton Roads, Rhonda Vaughn feels a strong connection to the community. Besides the four years she attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, she has resided in this area her entire life. This daughter of a U.S. Army soldier feels having lived in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Portsmouth helped provide her with a solid upbringing. Before entering the field of real estate, Rhonda and her husband, Jonathan, were entrepreneurs who created jobs in the region. She took care of office-related tasks like handling human resources and risk management duties.

Rhonda's interest in real estate began when she and Jonathan were selling their first home and searching for a new construction property in 2004. While multiple agents were interested in selling their home, none of them wanted to assist the couple with purchasing and building a new home because of their credit history. Frustrated with the lack of service she and her husband received, Rhonda took matters into her own hands. She quickly educated herself on credit and home lending policies, and continued her quest for an agent who had her best interest at heart. After finally finding someone who truly listened and wanted to help her vision come to fruition, she had a great experience building a home for her family.

It was at this time Rhonda began exploring other business options. Through her own buying and selling process, she realized that real estate would be the perfect fit for her skill set. That same year, she became certified and started working in the new construction division of one of the country’s largest real estate companies. She spent some time with a few companies in Hampton Roads, but Rhonda eventually found the right fit with SimonHouses.com. Here she thrives on the fact her work focuses on the rewarding experiences of helping people make important decisions that can positively impact their lives.

While Rhonda’s path to real estate was long and winding, it certainly led to her true calling. This former educator with 10 years of teaching and training experience easily provides an abundance of resources to ensure her clients stay informed. She can relate to people from all different walks of life and gladly helps those with specific needs, such as military families or those with credit challenges. Rhonda emphasizes integrity and honesty; she believes no one should have unpleasant surprises during the home buying process.

When she's not working, Rhonda loves spending time with her husband and three children: Briana, Angel, and Jonathan, Jr. She also sings, plays the keyboard and calls herself an avid movie watcher.
