Rachel Beasley is an agent who is all heart. The former volleyball player still maintains a sportsmanlike demeanor in all facets of her life. This eternal optimist is a problem-solver who finds the silver lining in every cloud she comes across. Born and raised in Portsmouth, Rachel has seen much growth over the years and acquired an eye for spotting area development trends. Such knowledge is a rarity but also a gold mine for clientele.
Rachel attended Queens University in Charlotte, N.C., before transferring to Bethel College in Hampton. She earned a certificate in biblical studies at this practical ministry training program. Later, she worked as an assistant to the dean and vice president of academic affairs at Regent University in Virginia Beach. Her organizational skills and sharp eye for details allowed her to flourish in this position. Being naturally sociable, she was well suited to this work that allowed her to meet all types of people. After three years, Rachel decided to pursue the exciting role of new mother.
Her fondness for real estate began when she was a teenager watching her parents build their dream home in Churchland. "The day I moved into our new house, I knew I wanted to help people have that same feeling of accomplishment and peace," says Rachel. Her enthusiasm for bringing people and property together remains strong. SimonHouses.com welcomed her as a customer service and Web manager when she re-entered the workforce. Although this role developed into something larger, she enjoyed being part of the team and working alongside her husband, Jonathan, for nearly two years. Rachel later became the financial manager at Alliance Christian Academy in Portsmouth where she managed the budget and accounts. "It was a great experience for me to learn how to multi-task and stay organized."
Now Rachel is back at SimonHouses.com, but this time she is an official real estate agent. Rachel explains, "I enjoy getting to know people. I listen to them and their needs to identify what they want in a home, and I want to see it through to the solution- a happy home!" Her favorite part about real estate is helping others. "My passion for this area, for people and seeing their smiling faces when they have that 'yes' moment brings me pure joy. I love what I do!"
This southeast Virginia native wouldn't live anywhere else. "After traveling the country and seeing all that our great country has to offer, I can confidently say that Hampton Roads is a great place to live. We really do have it all," she says proudly. Rachel has the utmost respect for the area's service members, as her brother currently serves with the Marine Corps. Other family members have served in the military and some friends are active-duty too. "I feel honored to live in a community that so strongly supports the great men, women and families who sacrifice daily and work so hard for America." Such deep appreciation is conveyed when she connects with military families buying or selling homes.
Portsmouth is currently where Rachel, her husband, son and daughter reside together. She has a natural affinity for the water and likes to walk, surf and play with her children at the beach. This Redskins fan still plays volleyball and enjoys watching basketball, football, volleyball, mixed martial arts and hockey. When Rachel is not selling homes, you may also find her spending time with loved ones, journaling, sharing Christian faith principles, cooking (especially spicy dishes) and reading motivational books.
