Nate Ham is a straightforward real estate agent with a cosmopolitan spirit. Born in Alabama, this southern gentleman traveled to many countries with his missionary parents. He learned how to combat stress caused by moving and adapt to positively fit into any situation at an early age. Clients see these strengths shine through and know Ham is a professional who not only wants to help, but has the life experience to execute his undertakings. "Adaptability serves me well for people who are looking to buy houses and sell houses, primarily because there's a lot of transition involved- and transition has been my life." Ham adds, "I wouldn't change it for the world."
Graduating from high school in Papua New Guinea, he became fluent in the primary local language. Afterwards, Ham returned to the States and attended Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Tex., where he studied theology and earned an associate's degree. He then began his career in sales, holding various sales positions for businesses including a family entertainment company, automobile dealership and customer management strategy firm. This purposeful career path paved the way for Ham to provide superior service for his current clients.
It was a smooth transition into real estate for this seasoned sales professional. He was drawn to this field because he sought independence and the ability to make a difference in people's lives. He explains, "I really want to work hard to make sure that every client that I work with feels as though they are the most important thing to me at the moment, because the truth of the matter is; they are." Ham's motivation and self-discipline make him a natural in this industry. He worked for local competing agencies before coming onboard SimonHouses.com. He says, "What Dr. Simon is doing is completely different. I respect it and it's pretty phenomenal, so I'm very, very grateful for the opportunity to be here."
Some of his family members have or continue to serve the U.S. military and Ham knows all too well about personal sacrifices involved. His understanding and sincere appreciation of service members and their loved ones make him an ideal agent to assist with their real estate needs. Ham says, "I'm not just out there selling houses, I'm actually able to help people because I want to." He specializes in working with military families, in both a buying and selling capacity, whether they are moving back into the country or across town.
Ham lives in Newport News with his wife and three children. One of his favorite local destinations is the Mariner's Museum. When he's not selling homes, you may find him listening to music or playing bluegrass tunes on either a guitar or a dobro. He enjoys taking his family to the park and watching movies with them. Passions in life include his wife, children and close personal relationships he has cultivated. He relishes every evening when he sits down to eat dinner together with his family.
