Garrett Maki is a homegrown guy whose roots go down deep here in Hampton Roads. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, he graduated from Princess Anne High school. In fact, he went to the same schools growing up that both his parents and grandma attended; Windsor Woods elementary, Independence Middle, as well as Princess Anne High school. Virginia Beach may not seem like a small town to most, but Garrett feels so connected to his community that it does to him. The Navy brought his great-grandfather to the area many years ago and the family has stayed for every successive generation since.

Garrett is part of a large extended family and those connections are important to this charismatic agent. Real estate runs throughout the family with cousins who are in the industry as agents as well as an aunt who is a great resource in the mortgage and banking industry. Garrett leverages the resources he has through his connections to provide his clients with the best information and assistance with their real estate needs.

"Knowledge is power," says Garrett. "I love educating people. I think people are more comfortable and excited about their decisions when they feel knowledgeable. I want to help people be ready to make smart decisions about their real estate goals."

Motivated and goal-driven, Garrett started in sales while he was still in high school. He realized quickly that he had a real interest in sales and the right personality to connect with clients. Garrett has never met a stranger. He quickly and easily engages in conversation and truly cares about his clients. One of his early jobs was selling high-end cosmetics at the mall. He learned everything he could about his product and found it interesting to engage clients in conversation that ultimately led to sales. A young man selling anti-aging products, he learned quickly that he needed to know his product and use his knowledge to help his clients. The skills he gained while working that job have translated well to real estate. Garrett uses his knowledge of Hampton Roads to help clients choose the best areas to live. "I strive to know everything there is to know about the area," says Garrett. Helping his clients choose wisely and find a home they can establish their own lives in is the best payoff Garrett can receive.

Growing up near Mt Trashmore, Garrett spent a lot of time outdoors. He loves the local area and all the many things there are to do here. He loves camping and hiking. Garrett is also a passionate animal lover. He has two dogs Ivan and Annie, a Yorkshire Terrier and Silky Terrier who he likes taking to First Landing State Park. Garrett also has 4 snakes and tropical fish. Garrett is interested in traveling and has taken a cruise to the Bahamas. He'd love to do more traveling in the future.
